Black History Month

Here is today's quick fact for Black History Month:

You've likely heard of Rosa Parks as the Black woman who played an important role in stopping the practice of dividing people by race in public spaces when she refused to give up her seat near the front of a public bus.  But did you know that this was not the spontaneous action of a tired woman?

In fact, Rosa Parks was a committed activist who had already been working to end racism before her action on the bus.

Also, before Rosa Parks there were many other black women who refused to give up their seats because of the racism of divided seating; this includes 5 year old Claudette Colvin.
